July 2024 Report | Solid Start, Spotlight & Summer Slowdown

July 2024 Report | Solid Start, Spotlight & Summer Slowdown

July 2024 was our second month of operations at re:kompany. After the encouraging start in June, we were looking forward to July with all the learnings and dealing with the teething issues. Going into month 2 of operations, we certainly had a better grip of things. And a higher growth goal in mind. July started off great 🫶🏼

Kaffee and love

We operated for a total of 26 days in July and saw a footfall of 541 (excluding infants & kids below 16).

We sold a total of 492 coffees (chai & chocolate included)

Our Indian Masala Chai Masala was sold out and led us to order enough stock to last us a while, 'cuz we know that our Indian Masala Chai has a separate fan base 🥳

The popularity of our Vietnamese Iced Kaffee certainly saw a rise, as it continued to top our chart of Cold Beverages Sold. August will see a more elaborate kaffee menu.

(Yes, Matcha & Espresso Tonic will certainly be on the menu😬)

Owing to the scorching summer days, the increase in hot beverages sold was rather insignificant, as compared to the marginal increase in the total number of cold beverages sold. (PS. These numbers only include the café menu, without numbers from the beverage fridge)

Adding home-made bakes to our Menu

We introduced home-baked food- Pistachio Safran Cake & Baked Samosa Puffs. Our bakes look nothing fancy, but the love and appreciation that came our way for the flavors has certainly boosted our motivation to add more unique and interesting munchies on our menu. Obviously, our favorite were the days when our munchies were all sold out. And there were many such days. But for those when we had leftovers, we made use of Too Good To Go to ensure there was almost no wastage.

We also hosted our first food pop-up, serving a sattvik, summer-friendly, vegetarian/vegan menu. The menu included Idli Chutney (Steamed rice cakes with coconut-coriander chutney), Chana Chaat (Brown Gram Salad), and Dahi Chawal (Jogurt Rice served with a tempering & crispy papads). On popular demand, there will be more pop-ups in August & the coming months.

Adding Comfort for our Guests

  • We got in chair cushions (which was long overdue) and standing fans for our café and activity area for added comfort.
  • Apart from offering free Babyccinos, we also added a baby chair to our youngest guests & their parents.
  • For our furry friends, there's always a bowl of water to keep them hydrated through the scorching hot summer.

Spotlight

We've hosted some of the kindest people at our studio. Received so much love & warmth & very kind reviews. Conversations & repeat visits are the best compliments for a Café & we've been so blessed with both.

Summer Slowdown

We had figured in June that people preferred takeaway to eat-ins, as everyone wanted to enjoy the summer weather in the park instead of spending it indoors. Hence, we slowed down on the activity front.

But what we failed to estimate was the holiday season, the quiet it brings & the sudden drop in footfalls since week 3. Our proximity to the Vienna Central Train Station brings in tourists & visitors to our Café. But we're taking this positively & focusing our energies on showing up each day & planning better for the months to come ♥️

Thank you again for your love & support. Hoping August to bring us more opportunities to serve you better 🫶🏼
