August 2024 Report | Sailing Through The Summer Heat
When you start afresh, you want to start running rather than walking, so the initial hick-ups manage to get you and it’s hard to stay unaffected. We completed three full months of operation, and August somehow, seemed slower than July. This month was not exactly about marginal growth, but then again, we were warned of the summer slow-down and holiday season. We just weren’t sure how much we would be affected. And yet, business remained steadier, instead of dipping and we’re grateful for it.
There was definitely an increase in footfall, compared to last month. This, despite hosting fewer events.
The prime focus of business was the kaffee, cakes and bakes. We briefly introduced the Mango Loaf and Chocolate Tea Cake in addition to our best selling Pistachio Safran Cake. With Fall season round the corner, we’re hoping to expand our offerings of cakes and bakes with a special focus on eggless cake loaves with distinct flavors.
Kaffee
With the constant heat waves in Vienna, it was only natural to sell more Cold Kaffees than Hot Kaffee. Without a competition, the Vietnamese Eised Kaffee was the bestseller in that category, for the third month in a row.
We have also started serving our Indian Filter Kaffee, that’s growing in popularity!
This month’s food pop-up was themed, ‘Between The Breads’. We had a range of sandwiches inspired by popular Indian street foods. Tofu Bhurji Roll, Pav Bhaji Bowl, Aloo Frankie and Fritter Sandwich (Bhaji Pav) were on the menu.
Konnections
We held some private workshops for Warli painting this month.
We also hosted our first Networking for Professionals event this month, to connect professionals across industries.
Sustainability
We finally found a solution to all the useless receipts that would be generated after every card transaction. By activating the Acquiring Plus service with our POS partner, Global payments, we've gone paperless! Our machine generates neither merchant copy nor a customer receipt unless demanded. Ensuring the record remains digital and saves paper!
While August felt slow, we certainly had some special moments while interacting with our guests and planning and prepping for exciting events in the near future. On to September- a month full of exciting plans, new strategies and new learnings.
